The legalization of cannabis in New York State for both medical and recreational use has given rise to a rapidly growing industry. Since the increased roll out of authorized dispensary licenses, many new jobs have been created, from the growing of marijuana plants, all the way through retail sales. Please join us, along with NYCOSH, the Long Island Federation of Labor and other cannabis industry experts for the second annual “Workers and the Cannabis Industry” forum. This year’s panel will include a discussion of:
1. The types of union jobs available in the industry;
2. The potential safety and health issues created by the industry;
3. A Q&A session with members currently working in the industry; and
4. Legal issues for all workers to consider.
